Only the 40 best ones were eligible to compete for the world title on Sunday. Check Picobello ridden by Lowie Joppen and Picobello Gwindeline ridden by Guillaume Ruant, both rode faultless rounds in the 1.40 final with a 1.45m jump-off afterwards. However one additional jumping fault made a place on the winning stage impossible and therefore Dayro Arroyave from Colombia on Gangster de Longchamp became the new world champion of 2012.
