Every year from the 26th until the 30th of December the largest competition in Belgium takes place in the Nekkerhal in Mechelen. There isn't any horse lover, who doesn't have Jumping Mechelen marked in their diary. The family Ruant was present too and they didn't let this event pass just like that.
Guillaume kicked up some dust with his spectacular performance with jumper Udo van de Somme. Udo, who knows no bounds as far as technique and jumping ability goes, made the B-course, which is not to be taken for granted, look like a walk in the park. It is a small course, surrounded by a crowd of noisy people; moreover it's a highly technical course, built by experienced course builders. Not for nothing is Jumping Mechelen famous and for good reason. As ever, Copy never disappoints and again she scored by finishing with a nice second place in the opening competition.
But it wasn't until the Grand Prix that Guillaume was able to hear his name reverberating through the loudspeakers of the A-course. With only 6 finalists in the jump-off, Udo van de Somme finished second place with only 15 hundredths of a second difference. A very exciting ride for Guillaume as well as for his supporters.
