Not only 1 but 2 Picobello horses participated and performed really exceptionally.

Foreign youngsters from New Zealand, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, … fly to Belgium but without their own horses. A lottery assigns these youngsters a horse locally.

Firestone Picobello left his mark at the World Championship for Children. He could count on the talented 14 year old rider, Waled Alhamdi, from Saudi Arabia. He was able to achieve/ get hold of a place at the prize-giving ceremony by performing a number of nice clear rounds together with a faultless  jump-off.  In a sublime way he and Firestone Picobello came 3rd in the final ranking.

But not only Firestone Picobello participated in the World Championship for Children. Also the 6 year old, Mamma Mia Picobello Z (Mr Blue x Carthago), who was bought by the family Nuytens at the end of last year and ridden by the 14 year old Gilles Nuytens, was loaned to the New Zealand young rider Leeshelle Small. This rider together with Mamma Mia Picobello Z, daughter of Mr Blue, sired by Copy Picobello Z, rode only clear rounds. In the jump-off they made an unfortunate fault but they still managed to achieve a very worthy 7th place. Nice job, knowing that Leeshelle had never ridden Mamma Mia Picobello Z beforehand.  They won the Team Gold.

Several more descendants of Copy Picobello Z are still active at the Picobellohorses studfarm.  The oldest, Born to Be Picobello Z (Berlin x Carthago), owned by Picobellohorses, is currently participating at the competitions for 7 year old horses held in Wellington.
